Jana Park Moore
Director, Producer, Writer, Editor, and more... Jana truly loves the many aspects of film-making and has worked with clients from Disney to Louis Vuitton to Honolulu Waldorf School. Born on Oahu and raised on Moloka`i, Jana has been captivated by film-making since her parents let her loose with a video camera at the age of 8. Throughout her youth, Jana wrote, directed, starred in, and produced multiple plays, video skits, and short films, eventually moving to Los Angeles and earning her first degree at L.A. Pierce College.
Jana supported herself through college by working in the Restaurant Industry, eventually becoming a General Manager, where she honed her business skills while learning the important dynamics needed to lead a team to success. She then studied Politics and Film-making at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earning a B.A. in Political Science with a Minor in Women's Studies. She has also completed over 100 hours in the University's Pacific New Media program, studying Film and Television Directing, Producing, Editing, Writing, Lighting, Sound, and Art Design, and more.
Jana was the first female Director to win the Championships Round of Honolulu's Showdown in Chinatown film competition, Directing and Producing "Arthur," which went on to screen as an Official Selection at the Big Island Film Festival. She Directed, Produced, and Co-Wrote the film "The Baby Lu`au," which has screened as an Official Selection at multiple film festivals across the country, including the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival and the Long Beach Indie Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Narrative Short. Her films have screened at festivals from Alaska to Florida and on the islands of Oahu, Lana`i, Hawai`i, and Guam, as well as internationally in Tokyo, Japan and Cambodia.
I absolutely love stories about real people. I believe weddings, birthdays, and community events are special times to be celebrated, shared, and experienced again and again. Film gives us a way to do that in a form no other media can deliver. Making beautiful films is fun, exciting, challenging, and always a new adventure. My very favorite thing to do is capture significant, treasured moments that will be enjoyed for years to come.
